I started in finance.
Capital markets at Rocket, a finance degree at San Diego State, and a close look at how an industry actually moves money and where it wastes it.
Then I learned to build.
Not to change careers. Because the people who can read a business and then build the thing it needs are rare, and I would rather be one of them.
Now I do both at once.
Loan pricing for a lender's AI team. A mortgage startup I build for. A production company with a paying client. Software other people depend on, in production.
I want to own what I build.
Equity over salary, systems over tasks. I am after businesses that keep running when nobody is watching them, and I am building the skills that make that possible.

Tolerance is the product. Everything else is assembly.
I read the business before I build for it.
Coming from finance means I start with the economics. Who pays, what the constraint really is, and whether the thing is worth building at all. Plenty of people can write the code. Fewer will tell you the project does not clear its own cost.
I finish things. That sounds small and it is the whole difference. Spec first, tests green before anything touches production, a live failure drill before any channel ships, and a written handoff on every release, on the rule that a release you cannot hand off is not finished.
I would rather ship something small that stays up than demo something large that does not. If a number is on this page, it is measured. Nothing here is a projection.
